Development

  • An egg is released from the ovary during ovulation.
  • If sperm is present, fertilization can occur in the fallopian tube.
  • A fertilized egg (zygote) begins its journey toward the uterus.
  • Cell division begins almost immediately after fertilization.

How you might feel

  • You may notice light spotting (mittelschmerz) around ovulation.
  • Cervical mucus becomes clearer and more elastic — an egg-white consistency.
  • A slight rise in basal body temperature after ovulation.
  • Some women feel a brief, one-sided pelvic ache during ovulation.

Things to do this week

  • Continue prenatal vitamins daily
  • Stay hydrated and maintain balanced nutrition
  • Limit caffeine to under 200mg per day
  • Note the date ovulation likely occurred
