Week 17

Second Trimester

Fat and Warmth

Baby is now storing fat — essential for warmth, energy, and healthy development. Those movement flutters may be becoming more recognizable.

This week's tip

💡 Swelling in your feet and ankles is normal — prop your feet up whenever you sit, and take short walks to keep circulation moving.

When to contact your care team

This is general guidance, not medical advice.

  • Contact your care team if swelling is sudden, severe, or accompanies headaches or visual changes.

Partner tip

Offer foot rubs and help elevate legs when resting. Small comforts mean a lot as physical discomforts increase.
